Why choose Sports Massage
Sports massage is a fantastic way of keeping your body feeling good. Sports Massage uses a variety of techniques to work with your soft tissue (muscle, fascia, ligaments and tendons) to relieve tension, improve mobility and reduce pain. The human body has incredible powers of recovery but sometimes needs an extra helping hand along the way. I believe that massage is a great way to stimulate the body to heal itself and to help you to relax, unwind and let go of some of the tension that life inevitably creates.

What you can expect
I believe that a massage should be an enjoyable experience. There are times when it can be uncomfortable but any discomfort should be the "oooohhh that feels good" type of pain, rather than the "Ooowwww, get off me" type. I will always check in with you to make sure things are feeling good.
Each treatment will be different and taliored to your individual needs, but I will use a variety of techniques to work towards the desired outcomes. These techniques could include massage, trigger points, muscle energy techniques, soft tissue release, myofascial release and soft tissue mobilisation.

When should I get a massage?
It would be wonderful if we could all live like proffessional athletes and have a team of dedicated professionals to tend to our every need. Sadly that is not the reality for most of us and we have to chose when and where to invest our time and money. People choose to come for a massage for many reasons, here are some of the most common:
-
Those training regularly for their chosen sport, who opt for a regular Sports Massage to aid recovery, keep their body in good condition and stay on top of any niggles that develop.
-
People targetting particular events who want to ensure their body is in the best condition possible come race day.
-
Those who have just taken part in an event. A massage can be a great way to help with recovery and help you get back into action again.
-
When aches and pains creep up on us and begin to have an impact on our lives. In an ideal world, it would be great to address these issues before we get to this point, but often we don't realise until it's too late!
-
Finally, many people simply recognise that it feels good, it makes them feel better and that is a good enough reason!
